Play Player Manager Online
1990 Amiga football game combining management and action. Control a third-division team: scout 1,000+ players with 8 skills each, train, set tactics, and play matches using Kick Off engine. Export teams to Kick Off 2.
Player Manager came out on the Amiga in 1990 from Anco Software. It was one of those games that tried to do something different with the football genre, blending the strategic side of running a club with the immediate thrill of playing the matches yourself. At a time when many sports titles focused on just one aspect, this one gave you both jobs.
You take control of a lower division team, handling everything from scouting and signing players to setting weekly training and picking the tactics. Each of the thousand-plus players has eight distinct skills to evaluate. When match day arrives, you jump onto the pitch using an adapted version of the Kick Off game engine, controlling your players directly. The challenge is constant; balancing your budget, developing your squad, and trying to win games with your own skill. It feels rewarding to build a team from nothing and then guide them to promotion on the field yourself.
