Game Overview

Playhouse Strippoker was released as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a title from the early 1990s that fit right in with the era's mix of novelty software and simple digital entertainment. It was developed by Digital Leisure, a company known for producing a range of adult themed and lighthearted games for home computers. The game arrived at a time when DOS was the dominant platform, and titles like this often relied on humor and suggestive themes rather than complex mechanics to attract players.

You control a cursor to select cards and place bets against computer opponents, with the main objective being to win hands and convince your rivals to remove their clothing. The gameplay centers on standard five card draw poker, but the real draw is the reaction after each lost round; characters perform short, pixelated striptease animations that are more silly than titillating. The pacing is slow, with hands dealt deliberately and minimal strategic depth, making it less about poker skill and more about waiting for the next visual gag. It feels like a novelty act from a bygone digital age, amusing mostly for its awkward charm and nostalgic value.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
