Game Overview

Oh man, Plok! I remember renting this from the video store as a kid because the box art looked ridiculous—and it totally delivered. You play as this angry little guy whose limbs literally fly off when you attack, which is equal parts hilarious and slightly disturbing. The first level tricks you into thinking it's just another cute platformer, but then you hit the factory zone and suddenly you're dodging conveyor belts and haunted machinery like some kind of deranged cartoon.

The music slaps way harder than it has any right to, especially that beach theme. And don't get me started on the Flea Queen boss fight—that thing scarred my childhood in the best way possible. Fair warning though: the difficulty spikes around the cotton island levels will make you question your life choices. Still, there's nothing else quite like hurling your own arms at enemies while Tim Follin's insane soundtrack blares in the background. One of those SNES oddballs that sticks with you.
