Plunder & Pillage is one of those old-school MS-DOS games that somehow makes pixelated cutlasses and questionable pirate accents feel legit. You play as Captain Jess Murdock, who’s basically having the worst day ever—shipwrecked, broke, and stuck on an island crawling with rival pirates who’d stab you for half a loaf of bread.
The first thing you’ll do? Scrounge for anything sharp or shooty before some drunk buccaneer decides you look like easy target practice. Combat’s clunky in that charmingly janky DOS way, but once you get the hang of swinging a cutlass while sidestepping musket fire, it clicks. The real fun is sneaking into enemy camps at night to swipe their loot or setting up ambushes in the jungle—though half the time, you’ll end up sprinting away with a trail of angry pirates behind you.
It’s got that perfect mix of chaos and strategy where one wrong move leaves you penniless (again), but pulling off a heist on a rival captain’s hideout feels like a victory no modern open-world game can match. Just don’t expect hand-holding—this one plays by 90s rules, where death comes fast and the only tutorial is trial-by-fire. If you miss games that don’t care about being polite, this’ll scratch that itch.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
