Game Overview

Pocket Monsters Snap is that weird, cozy N64 game where you’re basically a Pokémon wildlife photographer—except instead of hiking through forests, you’re on a little cart that rolls along set paths. You’ll toss apples to lure Pikachu out of bushes or hit switches to make Magikarp leap over waterfalls, all while trying to frame the perfect shot before the ride moves on.

The photos get graded later (Professor Oak can be harsh), and there’s something weirdly satisfying about nailing a close-up of a Charizard mid-roar or catching a group of Squirtle doing synchronized flips. It’s slow-paced compared to most Pokémon games, but that’s the charm—you’re just here to vibe and take pictures.

Also, the Japanese version has a few extra Pokémon and some different voice lines, if you’re into that. The graphics are very much ‘90s N64, but the colors still pop in that nostalgic way.
