Game Overview
Pokémon Colosseum is one of those weird, moody spin-offs that somehow works. Instead of the usual gym battles and friendly rivalries, you're playing as a former villain stealing "Shadow Pokémon" back from bad guys—which feels oddly satisfying. The battles are tougher than the main games, and the desert setting gives it this gritty, almost noir vibe for a Pokémon title.
You start off with just Espeon and Umbreon (no starter Pokémon here), and the whole "snagging" mechanic means you’re basically catching other trainers’ Pokémon mid-battle. It’s chaotic, and the Colosseum fights get intense fast. Purifying Shadow Pokémon takes forever, though—be ready for some grinding.
Definitely not your typical Pokémon adventure, but that’s why it’s still got fans years later.
