Pokemon Conquest came out on the Nintendo DS in 2012, developed by Tecmo Koei and published by The Pokemon Company. You control a young warlord aiming to unite the region of Ransei by conquering its kingdoms. Each turn based battle unfolds on a grid; you position your party of warriors and their linked Pokemon, using type advantages and elevation to outmaneuver opponents. Between fights, you manage your growing army, forge new warrior-Pokemon bonds, and develop your captured castles. The pace is deliberate, with some battles requiring careful planning, but evolving your team mid-fight or seeing a well timed critical hit delivers a real thrill. It feels like commanding a personalized army where every victory hinges on your choices.
