Pokemon Leaf Green (Cezar) (J) is a GBA rom that takes you back to Kanto, but with some odd twists. The early game feels familiar—you pick a starter, fight your rival, and wander through tall grass—but then you notice things like weirdly placed trainers or glitched sprites. It's playable, just rough around the edges.
I remember grinding my Charmeleon near Mt. Moon when a wild Pidgey suddenly had moves it shouldn't know. That's when I realized this wasn't a clean remake. The core loop is still there—gyms, Team Rocket, the usual—but expect some jank. The Elite Four is still brutal, though, so at least the challenge holds up.
If you're looking for a polished experience, this isn't it. But if you want a slightly broken nostalgia trip, Pokemon Leaf Green (Cezar) (J) might be worth a look.
