Pokemon - Leaf Green Version - V1.1 is a remake of the original, but with cleaner sprites and smoother movement. You start in Pallet Town with just a single pokemon, and the first hour is mostly wandering through tall grass, getting jumped by wild pidgeys and rattatas while trying to reach the next town.

The battles feel slower than newer pokemon games, but there's something satisfying about the simplicity. No fancy animations, just turn-based fights where type advantages matter more than you'd think. I remember losing to Brock's rock types because I didn't bother leveling up a water or grass pokemon first.

It's still the same Kanto adventure, just polished up a bit. If you played the original, it's nostalgic. If not, it holds up surprisingly well for a GBA game.
