Pokemon Battle Factory was part of the Pokemon Battle Frontier in Pokemon Emerald, released for the Game Boy Advance by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. It was a distinct facility that focused purely on competitive battling, stripping away the exploration and story of the main game to offer a concentrated test of team-building skill.

You control a trainer who rents a team of three Pokemon from a pre-selected, semi-randomized pool. Your objective is to win a series of consecutive battles against other trainers. After each victory, you can choose to swap one of your Pokemon for one from the opponent you just defeated, forcing you to constantly evaluate new additions and build synergy on the fly. The pacing is rapid and the difficulty steep, as you have no control over your initial team composition and must succeed with whatever you are given. It feels like solving a complex, ever-changing puzzle with each new opponent.
