Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Jupiter and published by Nintendo. It was a solid follow-up to the original Pokemon Pinball, fitting right in with the GBA's library of polished, pick-up-and-play titles. The game used the system's hardware well, with a rumble feature that gave a little kick with each successful action.

You control the flippers, aiming to keep the ball in play while hitting various targets to catch Pokemon. The main goal is to complete your Pokedex by catching all available species, which you do by hitting capture targets and then completing a mini-game. Signature mechanics include the ability to evolve Pokemon by hitting them multiple times with the ball after capture, and navigating two distinct tables (Ruby and Sapphire) with their own layouts and exclusive Pokemon. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike when trying to activate bonus modes or catch rare Pokemon. It feels satisfying to finally snag that one elusive creature after multiple attempts.
