Game Overview

Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Jupiter and published by Nintendo. It was a solid follow-up to the original Pokemon Pinball, landing right in the middle of the GBA's life when developers were really figuring out how to squeeze the most out of that little system.

You control the flippers on two distinct tables, Ruby and Sapphire, with the main goal of catching all 200 Pokemon from the Hoenn region. You do this by hitting the ball into specific targets to trigger a wild Pokemon encounter, then keeping the ball in play to "attack" it until it's caught. Signature mechanics include using the bumper buttons to nudge the table and a built-in rumble feature that kicks in for big hits. The pacing is frantic, demanding quick reflexes to manage the ball while also tracking which Pokemon you need to hit next. It feels like a race against your own reflexes, where every good shot is a small victory.
