Polaris SnoCross came out in 2000 for the Game Boy Color, published by Vatical Entertainment. It was one of those late-era releases that tried to squeeze a bit more out of the hardware before the Advance took over. You get a snowmobile racer that feels pretty straightforward at first, but it has its own little quirks.
You control a rider on a snowmobile, racing through icy tracks against computer opponents or a friend via link cable. The main goal is simple: finish first. You can upgrade your sled between races, putting points into speed, handling, or acceleration to better handle the tight, tree-lined courses. The tracks are viewed from an isometric perspective, which makes judging some turns a little tricky. The game moves at a decent pace, and the difficulty ramps up noticeably in later cups. It feels satisfying when you finally nail a perfect line and leave the other riders eating snow.
