Game Overview
Polda (originally titled Polda aneb S poctivostí nejdřív pojdeš) is a darkly comedic point-and-click adventure game set in the troubled village of Lupany, where two citizens have mysteriously vanished. Players take on the role of Pankrác, a deeply flawed local cop prone to violent outbursts—marked by glowing red eyes and reckless shooting—as he investigates the case over three chaotic days. The story takes unexpected turns, revealing ties to Pankrác’s family and even featuring a cameo from Lara Croft’s sister.Developed for MS-DOS, the game stands out for its absurd humor, Czech voice acting, and mature themes, earning an 18+ rating at release. Its title plays on a Czech proverb, twisting the meaning of "Honesty is the best policy" into something far more cynical. Though initially commercial, Polda was briefly available for free in 2005, adding to its cult status among fans of unconventional adventures.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
