Play Polda Online

You play as Pankrác, a cop who mostly just shoots stuff and spirals into existential crises while stumbling through a bizarre Czech village where nothing makes sense—including Lara Croft’s random sister showing up. The voice acting sounds like a drunk man yelling into a tin can, and honestly, that fits.

Game Overview

Polda came out in 1998 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by ZIMA software. It belongs to that era of European-developed adventures where low-budget charm and surreal humor often took precedence over polished presentation. The game feels very much of its time, built for players who didn’t mind a little jank in exchange for something genuinely odd.

You control a police officer named Pankrác, navigating a strange village from a fixed third-person perspective. Your main objective is to solve a series of loosely connected tasks, which usually involve talking to eccentric characters, finding items, and occasionally shooting things. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, simple shooting sequences, and dialogue interactions that are often absurd or intentionally confusing. The pacing is slow and meandering, with puzzles that can feel obscure or illogical. Playing Polda feels like wandering through someone’s very peculiar, very Czech dream.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
