Game Overview
Power Rangers: Super Legends on the DS is basically a nostalgia trip with fists. You pick your favorite Ranger—I always went with the Red one, obviously—and jump into side-scrolling brawls against waves of Putties and monsters. The combat’s simple but satisfying, with special moves that actually feel like they pack a punch.
What surprised me was the strategy bits between levels. You’ve got this grid-based map where you move your team around, unlocking new areas and occasionally getting ambushed. It’s not deep, but it breaks up the button-mashing nicely. And yeah, the graphics are very mid-2000s DS, but there’s something charming about seeing those sprites do their morphing sequences.
If you grew up watching the show or just want a straightforward beat-em-up with some light tactics, this one’s a solid time-killer. Just don’t expect it to reinvent the Morphin’ Grid.
