Game Overview

Powerdrome came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Michael Powell. It was a futuristic racing game for its time, fitting right in with the era's growing interest in 3D polygonal graphics and sci-fi themes, even if the hardware struggled to keep up.

You pilot a hovering anti-gravity vehicle on twisting, multi-level tracks filled with sharp turns and steep drops. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. Key mechanics include managing your craft's limited energy, which fuels both your shields and your speed, forcing you to choose between defense and aggression. You also have to master the art of drifting around corners to maintain momentum without crashing. The pace is relentless, and the learning curve is steep, especially when navigating the more complex circuits. It feels like a constant, high-stakes balancing act between control and chaos.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
