Princess Maker - Legend of Another World is one of those weirdly addictive SNES games where you raise a kid from childhood into adulthood, shaping her into—you guessed it—a princess. Or, well, whatever you want, really. You pick her daily schedule (studying, sword training, working odd jobs), feed her, and watch her stats grow (or crash if you push her too hard).

At first, I just messed around—why not make her a lazy artist who naps all day? But then I got weirdly invested in min-maxing her stats to become this unstoppable warrior-princess hybrid. The game throws random events at you too, like surprise dragon attacks or creepy suitors showing up. It’s janky in that classic '90s way, but there’s something charming about watching your choices play out over the years.

Fair warning: The menus are a bit of a mess if you don’t read Japanese, but there are guides out there. Once you get the hang of it, it’s hard to put down.
