Princess Minerva came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed and published by Vic Tokai. It was one of those later SNES releases that tried to do something a little different with the action RPG formula, arriving at a time when the 16-bit era was starting to wind down.
You control a party of nine female warriors, switching between them on the fly during combat to exploit enemy weaknesses and build up combo attacks. The main goal is to rescue the captured Princess Minerva by exploring dungeons, solving simple puzzles, and defeating bosses. The combat is the real focus, with each character having unique weapons and magic spells to manage; you often need to rotate party members mid-fight to keep up with tougher enemies. The pacing is deliberate, and some sections can feel a bit repetitive, but there's a steady satisfaction in mastering the team's abilities and watching a well-executed combo unfold.
