Pop this unofficial cartridge in, and suddenly you're the one making the rules—infinite jumps in Mario, never dying in Mega Man, or walking through walls in Zelda like some glitchy ghost.
It's janky in that charming 80s-hacker way—you'd flip through a little booklet of codes, punch in weird number strings, and pray the game didn't crash. Half the fun was seeing which codes actually worked (and which turned Link into a flickering mess of pixels). Not exactly Nintendo-approved, but perfect for when you just wanted to mess around after failing Battletoads for the hundredth time.
Still feels like magic when you first make Contra's spread shot fill the entire screen.
