Pro Wrestling (Rev A) came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed and published by Nintendo. You choose from a small roster of grapplers, each with a couple of signature moves, and face off against opponents in one-on-one matches. The main goal is to either pin your rival's shoulders to the mat for a three count or force a submission. Gameplay revolves around closing the distance, grabbing your opponent, and executing moves by combining directional inputs with the attack button; timing is everything, and mistiming a move often leaves you vulnerable. Matches can feel chaotic, with momentum swinging quickly, and the computer opponents offer a stiff challenge even on lower difficulties. It feels like a rough but earnest translation of wrestling's physical drama into 8-bit form.
