Play Q-bert II Online

Hop around pyramid tiles, dodging snakes and purple jerks—it’s the same frantic Q*bert chaos, just pocket-sized now. That stupid boing sound still makes losing weirdly fun.

Game Overview

Konami brought Q*bert to the Game Boy in 1992, a time when portable gaming was still mostly black and white. It was a straightforward port of the arcade classic, fitting the hopping action onto the small screen without much fuss. You got the same pyramid, the same enemies, and the same goal; it was a familiar dose of arcade energy you could take anywhere.

You control Q*bert, hopping diagonally across a pyramid of cubes to change their color. The main objective is to turn every cube to the target color while avoiding enemies like Coily the snake and those purple bouncing things. The signature mechanics are the isometric hopping, the way enemies follow specific patterns down the pyramid, and the occasional use of discs to jump off the playfield for safety. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding quick decisions with every hop. It feels like a constant, tense scramble to stay one jump ahead of everything trying to knock you off.
