Play Bert and the Snake Online
You're a tiny pixel guy running from a snake that grows with every move—tense, claustrophobic, and weirdly addictive for something so simple.

Game Overview
Ever played Snake, but wished you were the little guy running away instead? That’s Bert and the Snake in a nutshell—a weirdly tense MS-DOS relic where you’re just a blocky dude trying not to get eaten. The snake grows with every step you take, so the longer you survive, the more cramped the screen gets. It’s like reverse claustrophobia.
I love how it turns the usual formula on its head. You’re not steering the snake—you’re dodging it, and somehow that tiny change makes everything feel frantic. The graphics are about as basic as it gets (we’re talking four colors, maybe), but that just adds to the charm. You’ll lose a dozen times before realizing you’ve been hunched over the keyboard for half an hour.
Perfect for when you want something quick but punishing. Or if you miss the sound of a floppy drive whirring.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
