Qix on GB is one of those weirdly satisfying Game Boy games where you claim territory by drawing shapes—rectangles, mostly, but sometimes you end up with these jagged, lopsided blobs because you panicked. You can draw fast (risky) or slow (more points, but nerve-wracking). The second you start a line, these little jerks called Sparks zip around the edges, and the Qix—these squiggly neon lines—float around like they own the place. Touch anything, and you’re toast.
Watching your claimed space fill in with color is weirdly therapeutic, though. And just when you think you’ve got the hang of it, the Fuse shows up—this little menace that chases you along whatever line you’re currently drawing. It’s pure chaos, but the kind that makes you mutter “one more try” at 2 AM. You win a level by covering most of the screen, but good luck getting there without sweating.
