Quadralien came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Logotron. It was a time when shoot 'em ups were plentiful, and this one fit right in with its straightforward, grid-based approach to alien blasting. You didn't get elaborate backstories or cinematic cutscenes; you got a ship, some enemies, and the expectation that you'd figure things out quickly.
You control a small spacecraft viewed from above, moving it through a series of single-screen levels. Your main goal is to clear each screen of all alien enemies before advancing. The signature mechanics involve careful positioning; your ship fires in four directions (up, down, left, right), so you must angle your shots while avoiding enemy projectiles and the aliens themselves. Some enemies move in fixed patterns, others home in on you, and the pace is relentless from the start. It feels tense and demanding, a pure test of reflexes and spatial awareness where every mistake costs you a life.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
