Game Overview

Quadrel came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Latticework Software. It was a straightforward puzzle game from that era, the kind you’d load up after school without much fuss or expectation. It didn’t try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a clean, focused challenge on a platform known for them.

You control the falling blocks, maneuvering them left and right with the keyboard to form solid rows. The main objective is to clear lines before the stack reaches the top of the playfield. Its signature mechanics include the ability to slide blocks horizontally even after they’ve landed (until the next piece appears), and the escalating speed that demands quicker decisions with each level. The pacing starts deceptively calm but quickly becomes relentless, making every move count. It feels like a tense, satisfying race against your own stacking mistakes.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
