Play Ranx Online
Control Ranx, a metal brawler, as you punch, kick, and throw enemies in a gritty city to rescue your girlfriend from a gang in this 1990 MS-DOS classic.

Ranx came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, developed by Arc Developments. It was one of those games that felt right at home on a beige box PC, a time when gritty, comic-inspired action was starting to find its footing outside the arcade. The game was based on the Italian comic character, Ranxerox, a sort of antihero built from photocopier parts and pure rage, and it captured that low-life tech-punk vibe pretty well for its era.
You control Ranx, a massive brawler made of metal and spite, as he fights through screen after screen of thugs in a dystopian city. Your main goal is to rescue your girlfriend from a gang, which involves a lot of straightforward punching, kicking, and throwing enemies into the scenery. The combat is weighty and deliberate; each hit has a real sense of impact, and you can pick up objects like trash cans or even motorcycle parts to use as weapons. The game moves at a methodical pace, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with enemies swarming you from all sides if you're not careful. It feels brutal and satisfying to plow through opponents, even when the clunky controls remind you it's 1990.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
