Game Overview

I first played Ravenloft: Strahd’s Possession back in 1994, when it came out for MS-DOS. It was published by Strategic Simulations, Inc., and it fit right in with the kind of first-person RPGs that were popular on PC at the time, games that relied more on atmosphere and exploration than flashy graphics.

You control a party of two characters, moving screen by screen through gloomy forests and cramped dungeons. Your main goal is to stop the vampire Strahd von Zarovich, but getting there means fighting monsters with swords or bows, solving environmental puzzles, and gathering key items. The combat is real-time but feels deliberate, almost methodical, and the game doesn’t hold your hand; you have to pay attention to your resources and surroundings. Even with some awkward controls, the tension builds steadily, and it leaves you feeling genuinely uneasy as you push deeper into the mist.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
