Ready 2 Rumble Boxing came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, developed by Midway Games. It was part of that wave of arcade-style sports titles that tried to capture some of the console experience on a handheld. The graphics were chunky and colorful, fitting right in with what the system could handle at the time.
You pick one of several exaggerated boxers and step into the ring. The goal is to knock out your opponent within a set number of rounds. You throw jabs and hooks with the buttons, trying to land enough hits to fill your RUMBLE meter. Once it's full, you trigger a special attack that lets you unleash a rapid combo. Matches are fast and a bit silly, with big reactions from the crowd and over-the-top animations. It feels like a quick, satisfying brawl you can finish in a few minutes.
