Renegade hit the Amiga in 1986, a port of the arcade original developed by Technos Japan and published by several companies, including Ocean Software. You control a lone fighter navigating through five urban stages, from subways to rooftops, using a simple moveset of punches, kicks, and throws to clear screens of enemies. The main goal is to rescue your kidnapped girlfriend, pushing ever rightward while dealing with waves of thugs and occasional sub-bosses. Signature mechanics include the ability to knock opponents down and finish them with a stomp, as well as brief motorcycle chase segments that break up the on-foot action. The pacing is aggressive, and the difficulty is unrelenting, demanding quick reflexes and smart positioning. It feels like a gritty, straightforward scrap from start to finish.
