Renegade came out in 1986 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Taito Corporation. It was a straightforward brawler for its time, a genre that was just starting to find its footing on home computers. You played a lone fighter cleaning up the streets, a simple premise that felt right at home alongside other arcade ports of the era.

You control a street tough moving screen by screen through urban environments like subways and parking lots. Your goal is to defeat all the enemies in each area before moving on, culminating in a boss fight. The combat relies on timed punches and kicks; you have to knock opponents down before they can swarm and overwhelm you. Some enemies attack from behind, forcing you to constantly adjust your position. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially when dealing with multiple attackers at once. It feels like a frantic, close-quarters scrap where one mistimed move can lead to a quick defeat.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
