Play Resident Evil Gaiden (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Online
Creep through a haunted cruise ship with Barry and Leon, timing your shots in weird turn-based combat—miss, and that zombie gets way too close. Surprisingly moody pixel art makes the janky aiming feel oddly satisfying.

Resident Evil Gaiden came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, developed by Capcom. It was an unusual release, a portable side story in the series that tried to translate survival horror onto a handheld with limited power. The game follows Barry Burton and Leon S. Kennedy as they investigate a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the Starlight, which turns out to be crawling with biological horrors.
You control your character screen by screen, exploring the ship's claustrophobic corridors and cabins. The main objective is to uncover the source of the outbreak and survive. Combat uses a unique real-time aiming system; a moving cursor travels along a targeting bar, and you must press the button when it aligns with the enemy to land a shot. Miss, and the enemy closes in. You manage limited ammunition and healing items while solving environmental puzzles to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly due to the imprecise aiming mechanic. It feels tense and experimental, a strange but earnest attempt to bring Resident Evil into your pocket.
