Rex Ronan came out in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, developed by Raya Systems. It was part of that wave of educational or "edutainment" titles that tried to sneak a lesson into an action game, though this one went for a much darker, more visceral approach than most of its contemporaries.
You control Rex, a scientist miniaturized inside a human body, and your goal is to destroy the damage caused by smoking before the patient dies. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen through organs like the lungs and bloodstream, shooting tar-coated monsters and dodging hazards like floating nicotine blobs. You face off against tobacco-themed robots and bosses, clearing infections and tumors that burst apart when defeated. The pacing is relentless, with a constant health drain adding pressure; it feels less like a lecture and more like a desperate fight for survival inside a collapsing world.
