RoboCop 2 on the Amiga is one of those classic Ocean Software ports that somehow feels both familiar and totally different. You start off stomping through platform levels—acid leaks, sawblades, crumbling floors, the works—while gunning down waves of goons. The controls are a little stiff, but once you get used to Robo’s heavy movement, it’s satisfying to blast through walls or pick up cola cans for power-ups (though watch out—some of them screw you over with reversed controls).

Between platform sections, there’s this weird but cool memory puzzle minigame where you trace circuits to uncover RoboCop’s human past. Mess up and you’re back to square one. Then there’s the shooting gallery—hit targets, avoid civilians, and try not to panic when the second one throws nighttime visibility at you. Do well, and enemies go down easier in the next level.

It’s janky in that very '90s way, but the digitized movie stills and the sheer variety (platforming! puzzles! shooting!) make it hard to put down. Just don’t forget to rescue hostages—they’re your ticket to extra lives.
