Game Overview

Robot Ponkottsu 2: Cross Version is one of those GBA games that makes you wonder how something this chaotic slipped under the radar. You control these absurdly expressive little robots—picture a toy box come to life—dashing around tiny arenas blasting each other with weapons that feel like they were designed by a kid hopped up on too much soda.

The controls are surprisingly tight for how frantic it gets. One second you're strafing around laser fire, the next you're panic-firing a missile barrage that somehow ricochets off three walls before nailing your opponent. The AI has this weird, endearing unpredictability—sometimes they'll dodge like pros, other times they just walk straight into your attacks like they've given up on life.

It's got that perfect "one more round" energy, especially with the new characters and weapons they added. I still have a soft spot for the beam saber, even though half the time I swing it wildly and miss everything. If you ever wanted a mecha game that doesn't take itself seriously at all, this is your jam.
