Rockman 2 (or Mega Man 2, depending on where you grew up) is one of those NES games that just feels right. You start off picking which robot master to tackle first—Metal Man’s stage was always my go-to because his weapon shreds half the other bosses. The controls are stupidly tight, and the music? Absolute fire. That Quick Man stage with the instant-death lasers still gives me nightmares though.

What’s wild is how much it improves on the first game without losing that raw, arcade-y charm. You steal weapons from bosses, use them to exploit other bosses’ weaknesses (Air Man never stood a chance), and somehow the difficulty never feels cheap—just punishing in that "one more try" way. And Dr. Wily’s fortress? Pure evil, in the best possible sense. If you’ve never played it, you’re missing out on one of the all-time greats.
