Roketz came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Magicom Multimedia Corp. under the One Reality label. It was a time when fast-paced, arcade-style games were common on the platform, and Roketz fit right in with its focus on action and competition.
You pilot a small, agile ship through tight, maze-like courses, using thrusters to control your movement in a zero-gravity environment. The main goal is to either race through checkpoints as quickly as possible or eliminate opponents in deathmatch mode. Key mechanics include managing your momentum carefully (since over-thrusting sends you careening into walls) and dodging enemy fire or environmental hazards. The pacing is intense, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially when precision is required. It feels chaotic and demanding, but pulling off a clean run or a clever kill is deeply satisfying.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
