Rotor came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Gray Matter Inc. You pilot a small, agile craft through a series of single-screen arenas, each packed with enemy ships and environmental hazards. Your main goal is simply to survive, clearing each screen of all enemies to progress. The core mechanics involve precise dodging through narrow gaps in walls or between laser grids, while returning fire with a straightforward but responsive weapon. The pacing is relentless; enemies spawn quickly and attack from all angles, making even the early stages feel tense. Later levels introduce complex moving obstacles that demand almost perfect timing to navigate. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
