Play Ruin Arm Online
Explore ancient ruins, swap between Ruin and Arm to solve puzzles, fight enemies, and uncover the mystery of a fallen empire in this action RPG from 1995.
Ruin Arm came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, published by Bandai. It was one of those late-era action RPGs that tried to do something a little different with the hardware, focusing more on puzzle solving and character switching than just straightforward combat. It didn't get a huge amount of attention at the time, but it had its own quiet appeal.
You control two main characters, a boy named Ruin and a girl named Arm, who you can swap between instantly with a button press. Each has unique abilities; Ruin uses a sword for close combat, while Arm fights with a bow at a distance. The main goal is to explore a series of ancient ruins, room by room, to uncover the mystery behind a fallen empire. You're constantly solving environmental puzzles that require using both characters' skills, like having Arm shoot a distant switch so Ruin can cross a new path. The pacing is deliberate, with a fair amount of backtracking and some tough enemy encounters. It feels like a thoughtful, slightly demanding adventure where cooperation isn't just a story point, but the core of how you progress.
