Rune Factory 3 is one of those games where you wake up as a guy who can turn into a sheep—yeah, really—and suddenly you're running a farm while also dungeon-crawling. The Japanese version has that extra charm with untranslated dialogue if you're into that.
At first, it feels like Harvest Moon with swords, but then you realize how weirdly satisfying it is to plant turnips by day and smack goblins with a hammer by night. The townsfolk actually have personalities, and some of them will even join you in battle if you befriend them enough. I spent way too much time just fishing by the river when I should've been upgrading my gear.
It's got that classic DS-era pixel art that somehow makes watering crops feel important. Just don't expect the farming to be relaxing—those monster infestations won't wait for your tomatoes to ripen.
