Game Overview
Running Battle is one of those old-school Sega Master System brawlers where you play as Grey, a cop out for revenge after his partner gets killed by some shady gang called the Soldiers of Darkness. It’s got that classic beat-em-up vibe, but with a twist—you can only move left and right, no up or down. Makes things a little more straightforward, but also kind of brutal when enemies swarm you from both sides.
You’ve got basic moves—punch, jump, duck, and a jump-kick that feels way more satisfying than it should. Sometimes weapons drop in, like guns or health pickups, which is great because the enemies just keep coming in waves. There are five levels, each with sections you can technically run through without fighting… except the game locks you in until you clear the screen. Boss fights at the end of each level are where things get really tense.
It’s single-player only, which is a bummer if you were hoping for co-op, but the simplicity and the grind make it weirdly addictive. Just don’t expect anything fancy—this is pure, no-frills arcade punching.
