I first played Rytíři Grálu back in the mid-90s, one of those MS-DOS titles from Vochozka Trading that felt right at home among the pixelated adventures of the era. It was a time when games didn't hold your hand, and this one fit right in with its straightforward, no-frills approach to fantasy exploration.
You control a knight tasked with finding the Holy Grail, moving screen by screen through a world of forests, castles, and dungeons. Combat is simple; you swing your sword or use a bow against creatures that appear, and you gather keys and items to progress. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from navigating its maze-like structure and managing your resources. It feels methodical and tense, especially when you're low on health and far from safety.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
