Game Overview
Saru Puncher is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that makes you go, "Wait, why is this actually fun?" You play as this guy whose only job is to punch monkeys—yes, really. They pop up everywhere, swinging from trees, rolling barrels at you, even riding tiny scooters (because why not?), and you just gotta smack 'em before they wreck your day.
The controls are dead simple—move left and right, punch—but it gets surprisingly intense when the screen fills up with hyperactive monkeys. Some levels have you dodging fruit, others turn into a straight-up brawl. The pixel art’s got that classic GBC charm, all bright colors and goofy animations, and the monkeys have way too much personality for creatures that exist to get punched.
Never got an English release, but the gameplay’s easy to figure out. Just don’t be surprised when you catch yourself muttering, "One more round" after losing to a gang of scooter-riding apes.
