Saru Puncher was a Japan only release for the Game Boy Color, developed by KID. It arrived during a period when the handheld was full of quirky, experimental titles that often didn't make it outside of their home region.
You control a character whose sole purpose is to punch an endless wave of monkeys. These monkeys ride scooters, throw barrels, and generally cause havoc across single screen stages. Your main objective is to survive each stage by clearing out the simian threat, using your basic punch attack and occasionally grabbing power ups like speed boosts or temporary invincibility. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as more aggressive monkey types appear. It feels like a pure, chaotic test of reflexes where you just keep swinging until the screen is clear.
