Game Overview

Scrabble on the Game Boy Color is exactly what you'd hope for—a solid portable version of the classic word game. You can play against up to three friends (if you’ve got the link cable) or just challenge the AI, which actually puts up a decent fight once you crank the difficulty past "beginner."

It’s got that satisfying, slightly clunky GBC menu navigation, but once you’re in, it works surprisingly well. The dictionary feels fair—no weird rejects—and being able to save mid-game is a lifesaver when you’re stuck on a train or waiting somewhere. The scoring’s all there, the tiles look right, and yeah, it’s still brutal when someone steals your triple-word spot.

If you’ve got a soft spot for handheld versions of board games, this one’s a no-brainer. Just don’t expect your friends to forgive you for pulling "quixotic" out of nowhere.
