Play Scrabble - Deluxe Edition Online
Dropping "JAZZY" on a triple-word score while your friend groans never gets old—the AI’s sneaky with obscure words too, so you’ll learn more weird vocabulary than you ever wanted.

Scrabble Deluxe Edition came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Virgin Games. It was one of the cleaner digital adaptations of the board game for its time, running smoothly on the hardware people had then. You didn't need a powerful machine to get a decent game of Scrabble going, which made it a solid choice for word game fans.
You control your own rack of letter tiles, taking turns against either human opponents or computer players of varying difficulty. The main objective is to form high-scoring words on the board, placing letters strategically to hit double or triple letter and word score spaces. You can swap tiles you don't want, challenge words you think are invalid, and use a built-in dictionary to check spellings. The pacing is thoughtful, not rushed, and the computer opponents can be surprisingly sharp with unusual words. It feels satisfying to finally place that perfect word after several turns of planning.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
