Game Overview

Scrambble is basically Scrabble for MS-DOS, and honestly, it holds up better than you'd expect. You get that classic 15x15 grid, the satisfying clack of digital tiles, and that moment of panic when you realize you're stuck with three U's and no Q. The dictionary's strict—none of that "I swear 'za' is a word" nonsense unless it's actually in the official list.

What I love is how simple it feels at first, just plopping down basic words, until someone drops a triple-word score bomb and suddenly you're scrambling to remember if "qi" is allowed (it is, by the way). The DOS version doesn’t have flashy graphics, but there’s something weirdly charming about the plain text and beige grid. It’s the kind of game where you’ll start a match thinking "just one round" and then realize an hour’s gone by.

Also, pro tip: hoard your S tiles. You’ll thank me later.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
