Game Overview

SeaQuest on SNES is one of those underwater adventures that actually makes you feel like a submarine captain—in a good way. You start off patrolling the ocean in your DSV, scanning for wrecks with sonar (which makes this satisfying ping noise), then send out a little robot to poke around for salvage. At first, it’s all chill exploration… until depth charges start raining down and enemy subs pop up out of nowhere. The controls take a second to click—steering feels heavy, like you’re really maneuvering a bulky sub—but once it does, dodging torpedoes while lining up your own shots gets weirdly satisfying.

What I didn’t expect? The story’s actually decent. You’re not just blasting things; there’s this whole "save the dying ocean" thing going on, and some of the wreck discoveries feel legitimately eerie. Just don’t get too attached to your robot—those depth charges are brutal. If you like slower-paced action with a side of exploration, this one’s a hidden gem.
