Game Overview

Seawolf was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several older titles for a new generation of PCs. I don't recall the original developer offhand, but it was one of those early naval sims that felt perfectly at home on a beige computer tower, running from a floppy disk. It captured a specific moment in gaming when simulations were simple enough to grasp quickly but demanded real focus to master.

You command a submarine, viewing the action through a static periscope display. Enemy destroyers patrol the surface, and your goal is to sink them all with a limited supply of torpedoes before they depth charge you into oblivion. The key mechanics are manual torpedo aiming, accounting for the target's movement, and constantly diving to avoid incoming attacks. It's a tense, methodical game where a single missed shot can mean a quick defeat. The whole experience feels like a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, played in slow motion from a cramped metal tube.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
