Game Overview

So the Demon King got away at the end of the first game, right? Naturally, you chase him back to ancient Japan—because time travel is just another Tuesday for a samurai. This sequel splits each world into smaller chunks, which actually makes it feel more arcade-y than the original. You'll still slash through enemies and figure out some light puzzles, but now there's a proper boss waiting at the end of every section to test your skills.

You start empty-handed (again), but swords and daggers turn up pretty quick—just don't get too attached, since you'll lose them if you die. The levels hide some sneaky secrets too, and finding them changes how the ending plays out. Oh, and there's this weird shoot 'em up minigame that pops up out of nowhere, like the developers just really wanted to cram in one more genre. It's chaotic, but in a fun way.

If you liked the first game, this one tightens up the formula while throwing in enough surprises to keep it interesting.
