Sega Rally Championship came out for the Saturn in 1995, developed and published by Sega. It was one of those games that really showed what the console could do with 3D, sitting alongside other early polygonal racers that were pushing the limits at the time.

You control a rally car, choosing from a few models like the Toyota Celica, and race against other cars on off-road tracks filled with dirt, gravel, and mud. The main goal is simple: win each race in the championship mode or beat your best times in the time trials. The handling is what stands out; you have to constantly correct for slides on loose surfaces, and the car responds to weight transfer and terrain changes in a way that feels physical and demanding. The tracks are short but packed with memorable corners and obstacles, and the difficulty is high enough that a single mistake can cost you the race. It feels immediate and intense, a game where you are always fighting the road as much as the clock.
