Mega Man X4 on the Sega Saturn is one of those games that just feels right—whether you're playing as X with his classic charged shots or Zero with his slick saber combos. The levels are fast, the bosses hit hard (looking at you, Slash Beast), and the soundtrack somehow makes running up walls and dashing through enemy fire even cooler. It's got that perfect mix of tight controls and "just one more try" difficulty.

I still remember getting wrecked by the intro stage boss the first time because I didn’t realize how aggressive the enemies were compared to earlier X games. But once you get the rhythm down—finding armor upgrades, learning boss patterns—it clicks in the best way. Also, playing as Zero completely changes the game. No ranged attacks? No problem, just slice everything in half.
